What a night. rain on a tin roof is hard to sleep with, add snoring and farting (well that was me), I slept as well as expected. Left early to get to Erwin. No rain most of the morning, then light showers. No waterproofs needed. Booked motel and got cloths washed. Went out for Mexican dinner, delicious. Thumbed back but had to walk a mile on tired legs before I got a lift to the door.
The shelter last night is the last for a while with a privy. It’s now dig your own hole.
I discovered the reason TN don’t have privy’s. The moonshine boot legers used to disguise their stills as privy’s so there is a law than band privy’s. It’s never been repealed!!!!
Thought for the day.
Isaiah 30:21
“And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.”
I haven’t gone badly wrong yet. The marking in TN aren’t great. I know some people go 20 mins down a wrong path before realising. I have fairly good sense of direction but it’s nice to see the blazes to reassure you. I haven’t heard a voice yet but I know he keeps me safe. Sometimes we do turn of the road of walking with Jesus and then the Holy Spirit does talk to us to get us back on track.
Sometimes I get frustrated that God doesn’t show us the whole plan. We only see the next step and sometimes not even. But I think it’s a mercy that he doesn’t cause we couldn’t cope with it. He walks with us though and his voice is there if we can only hear it. Step by step. In the present. Grace for today. H.
