Devil’s Backbone Brewery.
3000 feet down and every step I was thinking I’m going to have to go up the 3000 feet on the other side. At the bottom there was a lovely river and I had swim #16. I also met a lovely girl/lady who had lost her husband to an aneurism very recently. We talked for a while and she gave me a spare free slice of pizza. Got to Reid gap and got more trail magic. Two hot dogs and Coca-Cola. Thumbed a lift to Devil’s Backbone Brewery. They offer free camping for thru hikers. Also great beer. They even have a stout that was nearly as good as Guinness, and great food. Lots of hikers here so quite a community.
