AT 71 - 5th June (859.5)

 The Paul C Wolfe shelter

I finally escaped the clutches of the devil. Set off early from tent city at Devils backbone brewery and thumbed a lift back to the trail. First truck stopped so nice and easy. There wasn’t much climbing today so made good time. Most people are pushing the extra miles to get into town. I ate out last night so I have enough food for tonight plus two more. (I hope). I’ll resupply day 3 and carry on till next town. I recharged all devices so should last. I lit a fire tonight to warm up my burger which I ordered last night at DBB, as well as my meal. Also I have marshmallows left, happy days.

Saw mum and cub today, just off the track. I watched for quite a while and tried to take photos.

Had swim #16 in river beside shelter. Down stream because it is the water source for the shelter.
