AT 133 - 8th August [360.3]

Galehead Hut

Got a lift back to Flume Visitors Centre. I was alone. High Route and everyone else were taking a zero because of the forecast. The recommendation was not to go up high because of thunderstorms. I ignore the forecast because it looked better than expected. LONG day but lovely. The clouds were low but it only rain a little in the morning. No views but climbing was moving forward. The afternoon it pissed heavy, totally soaked. Got to hut and didn’t have another mile in me. 13 miles felt like 23. I think I’d say it was the hardest day yet. The hut was lovely. Great dinner and only a few people made it, so no sardines issue. Glad to have a bed out of the rain.
