AT 142 - 17th August [267.3]

Bethel Resort and golf course.

Brilliant day. Drizzle all morning so slippy rocks. Climb up Fulling Mill Mountain and then down to Mahoosuc Notch. What a section, it was tough, exciting and exhausting. Rookie mistake on the way down, stood on a log and foot slipped under a rock, ouchie. Then at the start of the Notch I slipped backwards and hit my leg against a rock, temporary dead leg. After  that it was brilliant, crawling though caves and passing backpacks through. Climbing over and under large rocks. Hanging on by fingers and toes to get through. 1:45 hours to go 0.8 miles. Then no rest but up the Mahoosuc arm. 1200 feet straight up. Again tough but brilliant. Got to shelter before lunch and decided to do another mountain to get to Bethel and a bed.

Ouchie log.
