AT 102 - 8th July [788.5]

 

Holiday Inn - Fort Montgomery 

Lots of hard straight ups and downs. Bear mountain was lots of stone steps up up and up. You were meant to be able to see New York skyline but it was too hazy to see. Headed down to Fort Montgomery, where the AT actually goes through a wildlife zoo!!! We resupplies and got bed for the night. Inn had pool but we had so much to do we didn’t get to use it. 

Passed 1400 miles so there’s a 7?? to go!!!

Trouble

Oh boy I was in trouble. 

First my AIB credit card got stopped because of trying to buy takeaway online. I was ok because I had BOI card. Then I took Uber to Walmart and it caused it to be on hold. So I’m in Walmart and can’t used Uber to get back and both card on hold. I then used Revolut to transfer GBP to USD. Then add Revolut to Uber to get back. Then couldn’t upload money to revolut from BOI so I’m in America with no card or cash. 

I couldn’t ring international on American sim. Screwed. 

So I put back in my Irish sim and was able to ring Ireland and talk to both banks. Both cards are now unlocked. phew. Nearly a disaster. So relieved. 

We are so hooked on technology that once it breaks we are back to the stone age.
