Morgan Stewart Shelter
What a difference a day makes. Most of the trail has dried up with some damp bits to avoid. The rivers are back to normal. Walking is much easier that the last two days. The storm that hit was a once in 100 years event. The town of Fort Montgomery was without electricity or water for yesterday. Also there was limited ways into the town because of bridges and roads washed out. Some said it could have been 8” rain in parts.
Very relaxed day. Walked to deli for lunch and hiked out a stuffed roll for dinner.
Got to shelter early and planned the next few days. We should be in Great Barrington on Saturday.
Thought for the day.
Rivers of Living Water
John 7:37-39
[37] On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. [38] Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’” [39] Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
After all the rain and floods I was thinking of what Jesus said in John 7.
Recently we have had issues finding water, that has all changed, now all the water sources are reenergised.
Jesus said that if we are thirsty then we should come to him. It’s sometimes the last place we go. Interestingly it goes on to say that if we do drink and believe in Jesus, then rivers of living water will flow from within us. When we believe in Jesus then the Holy Spirit flow into us and overflows out. Jesus quenches our thirst in salvation but the Spirit teaches us more about Jesus every day and keeps us relying on him.
Praise the Lord Jesus offers us living water!!! N xx
