After a few mishaps we had a great night in a real bed. Italian takeaway was too much to finish. I had remainder for breakfast. So we had coffee and Apple strudel at farm shop and then started the stairway to heaven. It was tough but great. At the view at top I saw my first copperhead snake. Now I’m happy not to see any more. The rest of the day was ridge but mostly on solid rock in the baking sun. I loved it apart from the melting heat. Moved from New Jersey to New York. (Go on sing it with Frank Sinatra). Another state ticked off. Got to road just before shelter and had 3 hotdogs and then on to the 2nd best ice cream farm in USA. I had a malt shake and a banana split with 3 scoops of beautiful ice cream with 3 toppings and cream and cherries. That was dinner. Then on to shelter and camped. I got eaten alive with midges in previous shelter so camping for the moment.

Citizenship
Just thinking about the celebration and fireworks of the 4th July. We celebrate our citizenship, I celebrate St. Patrick’s day etc. My son is now American and Irish so he celebrates twice.
We have another citizenship which is worth celebrating. We are citizens of heaven, even though we are not there yet. Our place is guaranteed by the finished work of Jesus. We are adopted into his family as full sons and daughters.
As we celebrate our country’s day, let’s also celebrate our final country where we will live with the King of Kings.
